February 5, 2005 LASERTRON HOLDS THEIR WINTER OPERATORS’ CONFERENCE Amherst, NY February 5, 2005 - LASERTRON, manufacturers of professional laser tag game systems and arenas, held its Winter 2005 Professional Laser Tag Operators’ Conference in Buffalo, NY January 25-27. The conference was held at LASERTRON’s Interactive Entertainment CenterTM, which is the longest continuously operating laser tag center in the United States. The conference, entitled Do It Right The First TimeSM, provided information to attendees from all over the United States.
"This conference should be required of anyone considering a laser tag attraction or center. The material is presented in a professional and informative manner. It is nice to see a company that takes such a personal pride in the business that they run." The attendees came from as far away as North Dakota, California and Florida to learn how to open and operate a successful laser tag attraction as well as gain knowledge, experience and ideas from veteran operators. The invaluable information that was presented included topics such as, Marketing, Capital Investment and Capital Re-Investment Systems, Marketing and Sales Systems, Creating and Delivering the Best Products and Guest Experiences, Management Leadership Systems and more. "LASERTRON is a growing organization that truly focuses on quality and the details that make a business stand out in today's competitive environment." Several guest speakers were on hand to provide additional information and education. Frank Price of Birthday University gave the audience some powerful information regarding the need to focus on the birthday child as well as other tips that will help operators offer phenomenal birthday parties. Frank also offers classes and seminars on birthdays, please visit him at www.birthdayuniversity.com Mick Whipple from M&T Bank spoke to the group about securing financing for their projects and the ins and outs of SBA and bank loans. Other speakers included Rich Long of Benchmark Games who presented valuable information on redemption games and Dave Reiners from Betson Games Distribution with information on arcade games. "LASERTRON has put together a well put together and thought out product that could only happen by starting from scratch at the bottom. You have made my enthusiasm for your product all that much more. Because you have worked out the bugs and the wrinkles through your growth, I am more confident in opening my own arena."
On the first evening, LASERTRON elaborately transformed their birthday party area into a fine dining experience. Candles, mood lighting and beautifully decorated tables gave the attendees a sampling of how easily the space could be utilized for corporate dining functions and special events. The food was cooked on site, and wine and beer were served which is now offered at the LASERTRON center. After a satisfying dinner everyone was given the opportunity to play in LASERTRON’s 9,200 sq. ft. multi-level "Sport Arena" which offered players a two-team game format with Stealth Mode and Deactivator Mode. Then players also experienced LASERTRON’s 3,300 sq. ft multi-level "Adventure Arena" where the game was Team Free-For-All. Competitiveness was to the extreme! "The large arena is the best arena I have seen after viewing 18 facilities so far. My bet is it is the best in the world. The facility itself is the best facility I have seen, hands down." Prizes were given out at the end of the conference including two new LASERTRON LT-11 vests valued at over $5,000! Other winners received IALEI manuals, Birthday University manuals, cases of fog fluid, LASERTRON T-shirts, hats and score sheets. On day three a new section for Operators and Developers was added to the itinerary and will be a permanent addition to future conferences. The Business Plan and Financial Statement Review was a thorough overview of the importance of a well planned and comprehensive business plan. A detailed review of a financial spreadsheet also showed developers the realistic numbers that a laser tag entertainment center can expect to see. LASERTRON hosts four conferences a year for both potential operators as well as current operators. The next conference will be held April 26-28 in Buffalo.
