The attendees came from as far away as Arizona and Nebraska to learn how to open and operate a successful laser tag attraction as well as gain knowledge, experience and ideas from veteran operators. Nearly half of the attendees were from existing LASERTRON equipped centers.
Those existing LASERTRON operators had several "break-out" meetings to discuss items closely related to their existing operations. These Mastermind Alliance meetings covered advanced direct mail marketing techniques, discussions on hiring, training, team building opportunities and much more.
"After every conference, I return home with several pages of ideas I want to implement."
- Peter Murphy, 3-year LASERTRON Owner, Laser Flash
The invaluable information that was presented during the main conference included topics such as, Marketing, Capital Investment and Capital Re-Investment Systems, Marketing and Sales Systems, Creating and Delivering the Best Products and Guest Experiences, Management Leadership Systems and more.
Several guest speakers were on hand to provide additional information and education. Marc Mueller, owner of XP LaserSport located in Laurel, MD., presented an informational section on birthday parties. Marc’s facility is up forty percent over last year so everyone was keen on listening to his ideas and comments.
Mick Whipple from M&T Bank shared with the group information about securing financing for their projects, securing financing for a second location and the ins and outs of SBA and bank loans.
On the first evening, LASERTRON elaborately transformed their birthday party area into a fine dining experience. Candles, mood lighting and beautifully decorated tables gave the attendees a sampling of how easily the space could be utilized for corporate dining functions and special events. The food was cooked on site, and wine and beer were served which is now offered at the LASERTRON center.
After a satisfying dinner everyone was given the opportunity to play in LASERTRON’s new 9,200 sq. ft. multi-level "Sport Arena" which offered players a two-team game format with Super Rapid Fire and Force Field. Then players also experienced LASERTRON’s 3,300 sq. ft. multi-level "Adventure Arena" where the game was Team Free-For-All. Competitiveness was to the extreme!
"I wanted to compliment the Management Staff in Amherst. Both at the arena and Corporate Hdqrts - exceptional people willing to share information, experiences and recommendations. Cathy was especially helpful on the finance side with information worth the entire trip to me. It was an impressive Lasertron experience to say the least - We will be back!!!!"
- Jackie Johnson, 3-year LASERTRON Owner, Jaegerz
Prizes were given out at the end of the conference including two new LASERTRON LT-11 vests valued at over $5,000! Other winners received cases of fog fluid, LASERTRON T-shirts, hats and score sheets.
On the second evening guests were also invited to attend a social gathering at a local restaurant where drinks and appetizers were offered to everyone. Many of the prospects were able to meet one-on-one with existing operators and glean even more helpful suggestions and ideas for their projects. LASERTRON employees were also able to enjoy the camaraderie of their existing clients and developers.
"Thank you very much for your great hospitality and friendship. We had another great time this week and learned alot, again. You guys are great and we have never regretted becoming part of the Lasertron team."
- Brad Little, Hey Day Entertainment opening in Spring, 2006
On day three LASERTRON offers a section for Operators and Developers called Business Plan and Financial Statement Review. This is a thorough overview of the importance of a well planned and comprehensive business plan as well as a detailed review of a financial spreadsheet showing developers the realistic numbers that a laser tag entertainment center can expect to see.
LASERTRON hosts four conferences a year for both potential operators as well as current operators. The next conference will be held October 18-19 in Buffalo.
